Marion M. Vassar, 92, of Florence, Wisc., passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at Aspirus Iron River Hospital, Iron River, Mich. She was born October 21, 1931, in Florence, Wisc., daughter of the late Rudolph and Stella (Stubinski) Johnson. (.)

St. Germain road repairs to continue with anticipated $6 million price tag
The cost of fixing town roads in St. Germain is expected to exceed $6 million, the town board announced at its May 21 meeting. The roads needing the most immediate work are slated to be repaired this year, with the remaining to be repaired as budget allows in the future. Previously, town board members toured all the roads and noted residents, nonresidents, feeder properties, businesses and road conditions, and prioritized upcoming repairs.
