CRAB's First River Days Festival
Annapolis, MD - On Saturday, July 20th, Chesapeake Region Accessible Boating (CRAB) was one of three select sites to host the Anne Arundel County River Days Festival. The event was held in collaboration with Annapolis Sailing School and The Annapolis Maritime Museum. There are several other River Days planned by the county, but this was the only one with fully accessible water facilities and boats. The Naptown Brass Band performed at the event, and attendees enjoyed the food and beverages courtesy of Anne Arundel County Fire Department. During the event, CRAB took four groups out on Dream Catcher, and many others had the chance to learn to skipper the radio-controlled sailboats. The parents with children were very happy to see the CRAB ABC and everything it offers to the disabled community. When one of the little girls was asked if the power boat ride was one or two thumbs up? She responded enthusiastically, "It was 10 thumbs up!" That is what we like to hear!
