If you receive an unexpected email, call, or text regarding an unauthorized charge for Prime membership or notice of membership expiration, chances are it is a scam.
Dominant in-state 4-Star DL returning to visit Alabama
Vodney Cleveland confirmed he will return to Tuscaloosa to visit the Alabama Crimson Tide this weekend. Cleveland is set to play his junior season at Parker High School in Birmingham, Alabama. The 2026 recruit currently garners a four-star rating from multiple recruiting sites. He will also visit Auburn this weekend with Tigers expected to host him Saturday before he makes his way to Tuscaloosa.

The Alabama Crimson Tide basketball program has been trending in the right direction as of late. A large reason for that stems from the Crimson Tide’s success on the recruiting trail. The coaching staff has been able to sign some of the top high school propsects in the country. On Wednesday, Alabama was named a finalist to land 2025 five-star point guard Jasper Johnson. The other finalists were the Arkansas Razorbacks, Kentucky Wildcats, North Carolina Tar Heels, and Louisville Cardinals.

Beloved Bessemer business United Textiles suffers severe smoke damage from nearby blaze
BESSEMER, Ala. (WBRC) - We are following up with the owners of a Bessemer business that was devastated by a fire last Friday. Just two properties down the street is where the blaze began and while United Textiles didn’t get any fire damage inside their property, their building had plenty of smoke.
No action following statement of Eclectic town clerk
It was supposed to be a meeting to discuss the fiscal year 2025 budget for the Eclectic Town Council. Instead Monday’s council meeting turned into a two-hour executive session hearing accusations of misspending of town funds, a hostile work environment and slander. Mayor Gary Davenport said he and town clerk Shannon Duck have been discussing a situation for a week or so. The mayor felt the matter was important enough to delay the budget discussion to allow Duck to make a public statement before the council headed behind closed doors to hear from Duck, Eclectic police officers, town staff and Alexander City clerk Stephanie Southerland.
