BESSEMER, Ala. (WBRC) - We are following up with the owners of a Bessemer business that was devastated by a fire last Friday. Just two properties down the street is where the blaze began and while United Textiles didn’t get any fire damage inside their property, their building had plenty of smoke.
Trussville City Council honors student athlete, updates public on Chalkville Road expansion
TRUSSVILLE, Ala.—Family and friends were in attendance as Jackson Howell accepted two honors at the July 24 meeting of the Trussville City Council. Council member Alan Taylor read a proclamation honoring Howell for being the first person in Alabama to ever receive a scholarship from the National Football Foundation. The NFF announced 84 incoming college freshmen athletes to its 2024 Team of Distinction. According to the proclamation, the NFF has presented the scholarships for incoming college freshmen athletes since 2018 based on “academic achievement, athletic accolades, and community involvement through high school.

Negro Southern League Museum of Birmingham unveils exhibit at Jefferson County courthouse
JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. (WBMA) — The Negro Southern League Museum of Birmingham unveiled a historical exhibit at the Jefferson County Courthouse Tuesday morning. City of Birmingham, Kimberly Crum v. City of Birmingham, and Tatyana Howard v. City of Birmingham were brought before the court.
CFB analyst gives incredibly high praise to Alabama interior offensive line
Alabama football’s interior offensive line is continuing to garner major attention. Pro Football Focus college football analyst, Max Chadwick is high on the Crimson Tide’s expected starting guards and center at the moment.
