Blanchard Man Drowns After Rescuing Child In Sulphur
A Blanchard man drowned while helping his grandchild in Rock Creek. It happened at the Chickasaw National Recreation Area in Sulphur, officials say. Investigators said Randy Hicks was helping the child who was struggling to swim. He saved the child but he went underwater, later dying at the hospital.

The Junky Munky LLC, owned by Kelly Baehler, recently celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting event hosted by the Henryetta and Okmulgee Chambers of Commerce. The shop is located at 107 N. 1st Street in Henryetta and operates from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday. The Junky Munky offers a curated selection of vintage finds, upcycled and recycled items, handcrafted goods, and supplies for various crafts. Shoppers can explore materials for scrapbooking, cardmaking and cross-stitching, as well as a range of handmade cards, notebooks, planners and journals. From October through December, the store will expand its offerings to include candles and baked goods, featuring seven varieties of bread: Banana Split, Peach Cobbler, Apple Fritter, Snickerdoodle, Carrot Cake Bread, Spiced Zucchini Bread and Oatmeal Applesauce.
