LANIER COUNTY, Georgia – Lanier County Sheriff Nick Norton is reminding citizens that “Gun theft is a HUGE problem everywhere including Lanier County and Lakeland.”. Sheriff Norton states that the photos of the LCSO red files are only the reported cases from our county, not the city. This statement echoes what Lanier County News has suspected for a long time. The City of Lakeland Police Department may or may not be fully revealing all the incidents in their weekly incident reports given to the press. It is possible that the City of Lakeland has more criminal activity within the city limits than it freely informs the public.
UPDATE: GBI Arrests Valdosta Woman in Lanier County Child Abduction Investigation
LANIER COUNTY, Georgia – Monika Yvette Bradley (41) of Valdosta has just been arrested and charged with three (3) counts of kidnapping, according to information now released by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI). After Lanier County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) requested GBI’s assistance about 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, the GBI became involved in the case. The abduction occurred in Lakeland, Lanier County.
Four Lakeland men arrested by GBI in connection to homicide
LAKELAND – Four Lakeland men has been arrested by the GBI in connection to a Lanier County homicide investigation. The GBI has arrested Tommy Manning, age 17, of Lakeland, GA, J’mari Gates, age 16, of Lakeland, GA, Keamon Grant, age 16, of Lakeland, GA, and Kavion Brown, age 16, of Lakeland, GA, in connection to the homicide of Timothy Hunt.

LAKELAND,, LANIER COUNTY, Georgia – Four Lakeland teens now charged as adults – Tommy Manning (17), I’mari Gates (16), Keamon Grant (16) and Kavion Brown (16) have been arrested by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) in connection to the homicide of Timothy Hunt. The GBI has confirmed the arrests in a late afternoon press release on Wednesday, June 26.
