Pa. sportsbook closes, 31 people to be laid off
A sports and horse race wagering venue in Philadelphia has closed, according to a message on the Parx Racing website. In addition, more than 30 employees will be laid off. City Turf Club Op Co. and Keystone Park Services Company filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN) notice with the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry informing the state that the South Philadelphia Race & Sportsbook will close and 31 people will be laid off at 700 Packer Ave.
