Lansing is Getting a New Panda Express

A new Panda Express is planned for Lansing at a vacant lot at 2750 Preyde Blvd . The 2,225-square-foot restaurant is located near Preyde Boulevard and Lake Lansing Road . This will be the chain’s fifth location in Lansing Area. The restaurant is expected to open later this month. This news was first seen in Lansing State Journal .

The site construction has been completed, and exterior signage has been installed. The location has a drive-thru lane and uses the new Panda Home store design featuring traditional Chinese architectural elements. Compared to locations built before 2023, new Panda Express restaurants have a reduced seating capacity but a larger back-of-the-house area.

Lansing Township planner Brad Beck told Lansing State Journal that the work is almost fully complete, and the restaurant expects to open by the end of May, 2024. What Now Detroit reached out to the corporate team but hadn’t heard back by the time of this coverage.

Panda Express describes itself to be “the largest family-owned and operated Asian dining concept in America.” There are no franchising opportunities, and all locations in the United States are corporate-owned. The brand currently has 47 locations in Michigan, according to its website .
