    3 officers bitten, 1 dog dead, 1 suspect in custody

    LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — A dog is dead, three police officers are being treated for dog bites and a suspect has been taken into custody after a pursuit.

    6 News was on site near Stabler and Dunlap streets in Lansing after the incident Friday afternoon.

    Lansing police said their Violent Crime Impact Team had attempted a traffic stop earlier with a warrant, at which point the suspect resisted and fled.

    Police traced the suspect to the 100 block of Dunlap Street, where a dog emerged and bit the three officers.

    Police shot and killed the dog. As of 2 p.m. Friday, police are being treated at a hospital for their injuries and the suspect is now in custody.

    No other humans were injured, besides the three police officers.
