    Greater Lansing high school boys track and field Dream Team, all-area

    Here is a look at the Greater Lansing high school boys track and field Dream Team and all-area selections.

    ATHLETE OF YEAR

    Gavin Nurenberg

    School: Pewamo-Westphalia

    Year: Senior

    Accomplishments: Nurenberg was one of the state’s throwers and helped the Pirates finish as the Division 3 team state champion. He had the top area marks in the shot put (60-5) and discus (169-3). Nurenberg was the state champion in the shot put and the runner-up in the discus. He had the state's third-best throw in the shot put and ranked 13th in the discus.

    DREAM TEAM

    Tyler Baker

    School: Mason

    Year: Senior

    Accomplishments: Baker was one of the area’s top individual athletes and finished fifth in the high jump at the Division 2 state finals, was third in the 110 hurdles and 12th in the 300 hurdles

    Tarick Bower

    School: Corunna

    Year: Senior

    Accomplishments: Bower finished third at the Division 2 state finals in the long jump and had the top area jump this spring at 23-feet. He also finished third at the state meet in the 100.

    Wyatt Bower

    School: Corunna

    Year: Senior

    Accomplishments: Bower owned the area’s best time in the 200 at 21.81 seconds and finished fourth in the event at the Division 2 state finals. He also finished fourth in the long jump at the state meet.

    Dalton Brown

    School: Pewamo-Westphalia

    Year: Senior

    Accomplishments: Brown ranked second in the area in the shot put and finished third at the Division 3 state meet while contributing to the Pirates winning the team state title. Brown also finished 11th in the discus.

    Cutler Brandt

    School: Charlotte

    Year: Senior

    Accomplishments: Brandt had the top time in the 300 hurdles in the area at 39.48 seconds. He finished as the Division 2 state champion in the event.

    Nate Carmody

    School: Haslett

    Year: Senior

    Accomplishments: Carmody had the area's best time in the 3,200 (9:05.20) and ranked second in the 1,600 (4:19.40) this spring. Carmody finished third in Division 2 in the 3,200.

    Logan Davis

    School: Okemos

    Year: Senior

    Accomplishments: Davis was one of the top jumpers in the area and finished all-state by taking eighth at the Division 1 finals in the high jump. He was the CAAC Blue champion in the long jump and high jump.

    Collin Farmer

    School: Pewamo-Westphalia

    Year: Senior

    Accomplishments: Farmer had the top time in the area in 1,600 and placed fourth at the Division 3 state meet this spring. He was also the runner-up in the 3,200 at the state meet.

    Brady Feldpausch

    School: Fowler

    Year: Junior

    Accomplishments: Feldpausch was one of the top hurdlers in the area and helped the Eagles win the Division 4 state title. He had the fastest time in 110 high hurdles (14.57) and ranked second in the 300 low hurdles (38.68). Feldpausch was the Division 4 state champion in the 110 hurdles and the runner-up in the 300 hurdles.

    Ian Fowler

    School: DeWitt

    Year: Senior

    Accomplishments: Fowler was one of the area’s top middle-distance runners, owning the top time in the 800 at 1:55.9 and placing fourth in the event at the Division 2 state meet.

    Carter Lance

    School: Fowler

    Year: Senior

    Accomplishments: Lance cleared the top height in the high jump in the area, clearing 6-6.5. He finished fourth in the event at the Division 4 state finals and finished seventh in the long jump.

    Drew Novak

    School: DeWitt

    Year: Senior

    Accomplishments: Novak had the fastest time in the area in 100 this spring and was the runner-up in the event at the Division 2 state meet and finished third in the 200.

    Jackson Shaltry

    School: Grand Ledge

    Year: Sophomore

    Accomplishments: Shaltry had the second-best throw in the discus in the area (164-2) and capped his season by taking 10th at the Division 1 state finals.

    Trevor Smith

    School: Pewamo-Westphalia

    Year: Junior

    Accomplishments: Smith ranked among the top performers in the 100 and 200 and helped the Pirates win the Division 3 state title. He was the Division 3 state champion in the 100 and placed fifth in the 200.

    Ja’Saivion Taylor

    School: Holt

    Year: Junior

    Accomplishments: Taylor had the best time in the area in the 400 at 48.83 seconds and finished eighth in the event at the Division 1 state meet. He also won the event at the CAAC Blue meet. Taylor also placed 28th in Division 1 in the 200.

    Tryce Tokar

    School: Ovid-Elsie

    Year: Junior

    Accomplishments: Tokar led the area by clearing 14-10 in the pole vault in the regular season and finished as the Division 3 state champion in the event for a third straight season.

    DeWitt 400 relay

    Members: Jensen Ridley, Drew Novak, Gavin Lord, Juilien Johnson

    Accomplishments: Finished third at the Division 2 state meet and was the champion at the MITCA team state meet.

    Charlotte 800 relay

    Members: Braylon Holes, Bryce McConnell, Maliki Garza, Cutler Brandt

    Accomplishments: Placed third at the Division 2 state meet

    Holt 1,600 relay

    Members: Carter Bishop, Domanik Bobbio, Nigel Gadson, Ja’Saivion Taylor

    Accomplishments: Finished 11th at the Division 1 state finals.

    DeWitt 3,200 relay

    Members: Jackson Walthorn, Aiden Aldrich, Ian Fowler, Brennan McKone

    Accomplishments: Finished as the runner-up in Division 2 at the state meet and as the champion at the MITCA team state meet.

    Co-COACH: Brett Schafer, Fowler - Guided Eagles to Division 4 state title
