    More Michigan Avenue construction, detours Monday

    LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — There’s more construction coming to Michigan Avenue on the city’s eastside, and officials say it’s going to be happening until late September.

    Michigan Avenue from Foster Avenue to Fairview Avenue is going to be closed starting this Monday, July 8.

    City officials said there will still be local access for businesses and people who live in the neighborhood.

    Detours will be provided , said the City of Lansing Public Service Department.

    To get around the construction zone when you’re traveling eastbound on Michigan, turn north on Pennsylvania Avenue, then east on Saginaw and then south on Howard Street to get back to Michigan Avenue.

    If you’re traveling westbound on Michigan, turn north on Homer Street, then west on Grand River/Oakland Avenue, then south on Pennsylvania Avenue to get back to Michigan.

    The construction work is part of Phase 2 of the Michigan Avenue Rehabilitation Project . The estimated total budget for the project is $14.1 million.
