LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — There’s more construction coming this Monday in East Lansing, and officials are asking people to plan ahead for their commutes that involve Hagadorn Road.

The section of Hagadorn Road between Grand River Avenue and the bridge near Michigan State University’s campus will be completely closed from this Monday, July 8, through Friday, July 19.

City officials said there will be detours, and a traffic message board is posted.

Phase two of the project is expected to involve the section of Hagadorn from Grand River Avenue to Burcham Drive. From Friday, July 19 through Wednesday, Aug. 28, only northbound traffic will be allowed on that route.

The project intends to convert Hagadorn Road from four lanes to three lanes between Burcham and Grand River. Officials said the project will allow for the addition of bike lanes and pedestrian islands.

There will also be improvements to curb, gutter and curb ramps; pavement striping; and restoration.

If you have more questions, you can call the Department of Public Works at 517-337-9459.
