LANSING — A Marquette man is awaiting charges after Ingham County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested him in possession of stolen property they said came from lockers at a Lansing area Planet Fitness.

Deputies about 7:30 p.m. Sunday went to the Delhi Township Planet Fitness, 2380 Cedar St., to investigate thefts from several lockers.

Victims told police locks had been cut off the lockers and personal items had been stolen. One victim who was missing a credit card said their card had been used at an area business recently.

Deputies went to the South Lansing business where the card was being used and located the suspect, who they said had stolen property in his possession.

The sheriff’s office said seven victims have been identified.

The Marquette man, 41, is in the Ingham County jail and faces charges of larceny in a building and illegal use of a financial transaction device.

“This is a great example of the benefit of closely monitoring your financial accounts,” the sheriff’s office said in a release. “The victim's attention provided deputies with information that stopped this crime spree quickly.”
