LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) – Fruits and vegetables provide many benefits, and experts say you should have five cups each day.

They not only add lots of different flavors to meals and snacks, but also, provide fiber to keep you fuller longer, provide vitamins and minerals and contain antioxidants to keep our cells healthy.

You can increase your daily intake of fruits and vegetables in many ways, including the following:

    • Vary your colors daily and weekly
    • Get saucy with fruit
    • Eat crunchy vegetables with snacks
    • Keep your freezer stocked with frozen fruits and vegetables
    • Eat fruit as a dessert
    • Keep a fruit bowl on your counter
    • Eat greens at most meals
