LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Lansing police officers are preparing to set off on a 25-mile motorcycle ride to honor law enforcement who died in the line of duty.

The “Memorial Ride” is rolling out this Monday, July 15, at 6 p.m. from the Lansing Operations Center on Wise Road.

The police escort is inspired by similar rides that happen during National Police Week in Washington, D.C.

Officials say it serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made by police and pays a tribute to the fallen heroes.

The Lansing Police Department north precinct is at 5815 Wise Road.
