    Lansing man charged with death threats against Eaton Co. judge

    LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — A Lansing man has been charged with making death threats against a retired Eaton County Judge, the Eaton County Prosecutor announced Monday.

    Michael Jonathan Wetmore, 46, of Lansing, was arrested after calling the Eaton County Sheriff’s Office and making statements threatening the life of retired Eaton County Judge Julie Reincke. The following investigation led to Wetmore facing 2 charges:

    • False Report or Threat of Terrorism, a 20-year felony
    • Telecommunications Services – Malicious Use, a 6-month misdemeanor

    Wetmore was arraigned on Monday afternoon in the 56A District Court. His bond is set for $150,000.

    He is scheduled for a probable cause conference on July 31 at 8:30 a.m.
