LANSING — In just a few weeks, Team USA will be going for gold at the 2024 Olympics in Paris — and patriotic fans may be in need of a place to cheer on the red, white and blue.

For fans opting not to cross the Atlantic Ocean to cheer on their favorite athletes, numerous Lansing-area bars and restaurants will be showing the competitions.

The games will take place from July 26 to Aug. 11. NBC is broadcasting the Games this year. The network's complete schedule is available at https://www.nbcolympics.com/schedule .

If you're looking for a place to watch, here are five Lansing spots offering viewing, dining and drinking options.

    Nuthouse Sports Grill

With its dozens of TVs and central location in Lansing's Stadium District, the Nuthouse has been a popular place to watch a variety of sports games for years.

Located across from Jackson Field at 420 E. Michigan Ave., the Nuthouse offers classic American bar fare, including sandwiches, salads and pizzas. They also offer a selection of craft beers from Michigan breweries and specialty cocktails.

The Nuthouse has about 28 TVs, and has long been the place to watch sports in Lansing, according to General Manager Noah Lynch.

"We're shaped around watching sports," Lynch said. "There's no other place in Lansing like it."

    The Nuthouse is open from 11 a.m. to midnight Monday-Thursday, from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Friday-Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sundays.

    Sidecar Slider Bar

Across South Cedar Street from the Nuthouse is Sidecar Slider Bar. The relatively new addition to Lansing's sports bar scene offers patio seating, lots of TVs and a focus on a specific menu item: sliders.

The menu offers a variety of hamburger sliders, along with options for fish, chicken and vegetarian sliders. The restaurant also serves hot dogs, fries, and a multitude of appetizers ranging from coconut shrimp to pierogis.

This spot has about a dozen TVs and, like the Nuthouse, its central location in Lansing's Stadium District makes it a popular place for sports fanatics.

Sidecar Slider Bar, open daily from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., is located at 500 E. Michigan Ave.

    One North Kitchen & Bar

One North Kitchen & Bar opened in December 2020 at 5001 W. Saginaw Hwy. in Delta Township, replacing Reno's West. In 2021, One North was named "Lansing's Best New Restaurant."

The restaurant has no shortage of seating, and wherever you find yourself you'll have a great view of a TV. The glass garage doors around the bar can be raised in the summer so you can enjoy the weather while not missing a second of Team USA.

One North has 32 TVs and all are typically tuned to sports.

"Our TVs are always on sports," bar Manager Maranda Munley said. "We have a big crowd that comes in for game days, like the Detroit Tigers, MSU basketball to sit at the bar and watch."

One North prides itself on its scratch kitchen and craft cocktails, with seasonal options to enjoy. The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m. to midnight Friday-Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sundays.

Reno's North Sports Bar & Grill

Located at 16460 S. U.S. 27, Reno's North is a popular place to watch sports because of its nearly 80 TV screens, expansive drink menu and ties to Michigan State University athletics.

The 10,000-square-foot space has seating for about 350 people. Guests can choose from a wide variety of food options, including sandwiches, wings and burgers.

"Wherever you sit, you can see at least five of our TVs," said Ashley Bellamy, assistant general manager. "And they're all 72-inch TVs, too."

    Reno's is open from 11 a.m. to midnight Sunday-Thursday, and from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Friday-Saturday.

    Lansing Brewing Company

If you're looking for locally brewed beers and craft cocktails to enjoy while watching games, check out Lansing Brewing Company. Located at 518 E Shiawassee St., LBC is the first brewery in Lansing since the original LBC closed in 1914 .

The beer menu has 20 options on tap, most of which are brewed at LBC. For food, they serve classic bar fare, like hamburgers, fries and sandwiches, but also poutine and shrimp.

"Anywhere you sit (at LBC) you have a fabulous view of one of our 14 TVs," Jeremy McKowen, general manager, said. "We have great sound, and you know we brew our own beer and spirits, too."

LBC is open every day from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m., with the kitchen closing at 10 p.m.
