    Woman shot in eye in south Lansing

    LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — A woman was shot in the eye Wednesday afternoon on the south side of Lansing, according to a sergeant with the Lansing Police Department.

    Lansing police responded to the 100 block of E Holmes Rd near Stabler Rd a little after 4:00 p.m. after receiving a report of a shooting. On the scene, law enforcement set up a perimeter and closed down the road in the area.

    The victim, a 34-year-old woman from Land, drove herself to a local hospital with what police say is a serious, but non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

    Police say the identity of the shooter remains unknown at this time, but they do not believe that there is a threat to the public.
