    Here's a look at when storms could affect your plans today in the Lansing area

    LANSING — The Lansing area could see strong to severe thunderstorms Thursday evening, the National Weather Service said Thursday morning.

    "The day will start out dry with partly sunny skies. Showers and storms return late this afternoon into this evening, and into Friday with humid conditions continuing," the weather serivce said.

    The Lansing area, and much of the southwestern Lower Peninsula, is under a "marginal" risk for storms, which means they will be limited in duration, coverage or intensity.

    The main threats will be isolated damaging winds and locally heavy rainfall," the NWS Grand Rapids office said on X. Storms will move from the southwest to northeast.

    With sunshine most of the day, highs will be in the 80s.

    Rain will come to an end on Friday, and Saturday will be dry, the weather service said.
