Saturday August 24, 2024 — A slight increase in mid to upper level clouds this afternoon has made blue skies a touch hazy, but under approaching high pressure, conditions have remained mainly dry. The lone exception has been down Route 104 west towards Niagara and Erie Counties where a few showers have popped over the course of the middle of the afternoon. The showers will weaken as it runs into drier air to the east, possibly just clipping parts of Monroe County.

Cornell, UAW fail to reach agreement ahead of fall semester
ITHACA, NY (CortacaToday) – Cornell appears poised to head into the fall semester without the nearly 1200 employees on strike. After calling the UAW back to the negotiating table earlier this week, no agreement was reached on Thursday. The University says it offered a new tier-less wage proposal with increased financial terms to no avail, adding that UAW representatives have also refused to include a mediator in the process, and asked for previous demands they agreed to set aside.
