Student-Artists’ Talent on Display
This spring, the Greater Flint community was invited to view the works of local art students at two special exhibitions hosted annually by the Greater Flint Arts Council. The 2024 Young Artists Today Tri-County High School Art Show/Competition featured hundreds of original works by student artists from more than 20 high schools throughout Genesee, Shiawassee and Lapeer counties. Jeep Nights in Imlay City to benefit Lapeer County Suicide Prevention Network
Every Friday until the weather no longer allows, the streets in Imlay City will be lined with Jeeps. The event, which will take place from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. will be held to bring awareness to and benefit the Lapeer County Suicide Prevention Network. Those who participate will be able to bring their Jeeps, eat good food, socialize, and also be eligible to win some prizes. The first Jeep night was a success according to sponsors, as it featured around 24 vehicles for the opening weekend and they anticipate the momentum to increase as news spreads.
