Wildfire Forcing Evacuation Of Juliaetta At 2,000 Acres Structures Lost-Second Large Fire South Of Troy
A new wildfire South of Juliaetta is forcing the town to be evacuated. Latah County Sheriff’s Deputies are evacuating the town along the Potlatch River due to the Gwen Fire which has burned over 2,000 acres. Initial reports indicate that structures have been lost. Firefighters are battling the blaze from the ground with support from aircraft making water drops on the flames. Evacuees can go to the Latah County Fairgrounds in Moscow. State Highway 3 is closed South of Juliaetta. The Latah County Commissioners will consider continuing their emergency declaration for wildfires. The board first approved the declaration last week when Texas Fire erupted nearby East of Kendrick torching four homes.

Spokane Police respond to two drive-by shootings Tuesday night
SPOKANE, Wash. — The Spokane Police Department said they responded to two shootings that happened within 30 minutes of each other Tuesday night. According to SPD, officers responded to several reports of gunshots near Lincoln Street and Cleveland Avenue, with callers reporting to police that shots were fired from a black vehicle that fled. SPD could not find any victims.

Man charged with murder takes back guilty plea, prosecutor files for death penalty
IDAHO FALLS — A man charged with murder has withdrawn his guilty plea, and the state has refiled for the death penalty following new felony charges. Lance Broncho, 23, was recently charged with three counts of felony assault or battery upon certain personnel and felony introducing major contraband to a correctional facility.

The Kellogg School District has settled civil lawsuits with a former student and a former employee.
