I've enjoyed getting to know many veterans who call Wyoming home. Many weren't born in the Cowboy State but moved here after retiring from the service. According to reports, 44,403 vets live here, putting Wyoming at #3 with 7,571 veterans per 100,000 people. This state is a good option for vets, with lots of open space, outdoor experiences, veteran organizations, no state income tax, and educational benefits, which are a few reasons a veteran may choose to live here.
Laramie Police Department Announces Night Out Event
The Laramie Police Department will hold its National Night Out event on August 6 at Kiwanis Park. That's according to a post on the agency's Facebook page. According to the post, the night will begin with the Laramie Soup Kitchen providing dinner for the guests from 5:30 until 7 p.m. After dinner, ice cream will be served along with a showing of the movie Zootpia.

The Wyoming Little League District No. 2 District Tournament is in Laramie from July 15-20, 2024. There are two divisions with Majors and Minors. The Majors is a seven-team, double-elimination bracket, and the Minors is a six-team, double-elimination bracket. The top two teams in each division will advance to the Wyoming Little League State Tournament in Douglas on July 24-27, 2024. All games are at the Laramie Youth Baseball Complex on Armory Road.
