The Tecos advanced to the second round as they defeated the Acereros de Monclova in six games. Dos Laredos won Game 6 on Saturday as it beat Monclova on a walkoff RBI single in the 10th inning. Union Laguna advanced to the second round as it beat the Toros de Tijuana in five games in their respective first-round matchup. This is a rematch of last year's Northern Division Championship Series, in which the Algodoneros won in six games. This should be entertaining matchup as the Tecolotes and Algodoneros were separated by a single game at the end of the regular season. Union Laguna had a solid regular season, finishing 52-39. The Algodoneros finished with the ninth best overall offense as they slashed .281/.370/.443 with 475 RBIs and 518 runs scored. Their pitching was fine, too, as they ended with a 4.79 combined ERA. Robert Stock is scheduled to starter Game 1 for the Tecos. The series is scheduled to open on Tuesday at Uni-Trade Stadium, first pitch is set for 7:30 p.m. Game 2 is scheduled for Wednesday at Parque La Junta in Nuevo Laredo, first pitch set for 8. First baseman Rangel Ravelo and third baseman Luis Sardinas have both been solid in the playoff as they are both hitting .318 during the postseason. Ravelo had a massive game on Saturday, hitting two home runs to finish 2 for 4 with four RBIs and two runs. </div></body>
