At about 8:54 a.m. Wednesday, a woman reported to police that her son was suicidal and needed assistance. She stated that her 35-year-old son was walking toward the Three Points interchange by&nbsp;Zapata Highway. Officers found the man sitting on the bridge railing with the busy highway beneath him, authorities said. Officers began to dialogue with him. Using de-escalation techniques, officers convince the man to go and get evaluated for his emotional distress, according to police. Without using force, the man went willfully with the officers to the hospital. “LPD commends its officers involved in this successful outcome,” police said in a statement.
