He and his Mustangs beat Southside 28-21. The Mustangs turned it on at the right&nbsp;moment—the very end. It felt like for all of the third quarter they were playing behind, but the fourth quarter was when things went right. The Mustangs hosted Southside at Shirley Field for their second district game. Southside has historically been a district title-winning team and the Mustangs gave them everything they had. For the Mustangs, Franko Cruz scored on the first offensive drive, running the ball into the end zone for six, and the extra point after was good. Southside responded with a touchdown of their own, but then one of the fastest Mustangs on the team, Humberto Silva, took it all the way to the house for a 65-yard touchdown. Before the half ended, Southside would tie the game. Southside came into the second half, and their defense shut down the Mustangs' offense. Southside took a 21-14 lead, but not for long. The Mustangs scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter. Silva got his second touchdown of the night off a screen, and Shawn Haynes got into the end zone with a sweep rush to the right side. The Mustangs improved to 3-1 and will make the trip to South San Antonio next Friday. </div></body>
