    California-based Black Bear Diner opens 3 more restaurants in Texas

    Black Bear Diner has new opened three locations in Texas, the California restaurant chain announced Monday.

    Known for its cabin-themed, family-style dining experience, Black Bear Diner serves homestyle comfort foods. Founded in Mount Shasta, California in 1995, the restaurant now has 161 locations in 13 states.

    Texas 'a key growth market for Black Bear Diner,' CEO says

    Monday's press release announced the openings of Black Bear Diner locations in Baytown, San Antonio's Monterrey Village and Laredo. This brings the chain up to 24 Texas locations. CEO Anita Adams identified the state as "a key growth market for Black Bear Diner."

    "The enthusiastic reception we’ve received across the state reaffirms our belief in the enduring appeal of our concept and is a testament to Texas’s robust economy," Adams said in the press release. "We’re not just opening restaurants; we’re investing in communities and creating local gathering spots that resonate with Texans. We’re committed to continued investment here, with plans for further expansion in both existing and new markets across the state."

    Black Bear Diner's new Texas locations

    Three new Black Bear Diner locations have opened in the state:

    • Baytown : 4021 I-10 Frontage
    • San Antonio Monterrey Village : 8614 TX-151
    • Laredo : 2704 Bob Bullock Loop

    Each of the new locations have brought 80 to 100 new jobs to the areas, according to Black Bear Diner. The chain also notes unique touches added to the restaurants.

    "The locations also incorporate local flair, with the Baytown diner featuring decor that pays homage to the Lynchburg Ferry service, the Laredo diner honoring the city with ranching bears and the Monterrey Village location showcasing a military-themed bear package to pay tribute to the area’s strong military presence," the press release says .
