Largo company Vista Gin wins gold at international spirits competition

Tampa, FL – June 11, 2024 — Vista Gin , a new gin company based in Largo, Florida, has been awarded gold at the Spring 2024 John Barleycorn Awards Taste Competition. Vista Gin’s flagship product, Sakura, received this prestigious accolade, presented by The Barleycorn Society, recognizing excellence in distilling based on a 100-point scale evaluating appearance, aroma, taste, and finish.

Vista Gin was established to bring true craft distilling to Florida and beyond, mirroring the success of craft brewing across the nation. The company aims to meet the growing demand for high-quality, artisanal spirits. Sakura, celebrated for its sophisticated, herbaceous profile, features an innovative blend of botanicals including juniper, coriander, lemongrass, shiso, turmeric, chamomile, black pepper, ginger, clove, orris, lime peel, orange peel, and cucumber.

The judges praised Sakura as “a botanical revelation with lemon zest and a touch of spice plus a pop of lavender on the long and citrus-laden finish.”
