A pipe at the Soldier Canyon Water Treatment Plant broke just before noon Tuesday, plant general manager Mark Kempton told the Coloradoan. The pipe carries plant process water, which is needed to transport water treatment chemicals throughout the plant, and with that pipe out of service, the plant could not treat any water.

Inside People Column: Gordon McLaughlin, DA Making a Difference in Estes Park
In the heart of Larimer County, a quiet revolution is taking place. Under the guidance of District Attorney Gordon McLaughlin, the traditional approach to justice is being challenged and transformed. As I stepped onto the second-floor office of the district attorney’s office in old town Fort Collins, I witnessed a small yet powerful example of this change. A man with a tattooed face, fresh from completing his community service, smiled as he thanked the DA’s office for their understanding and support and for giving him a few extra days to accommodate his work schedule. This simple interaction epitomizes McLaughlin’s compassionate and forward-thinking approach to our community.
