Monolith in northern Colorado is no more
BELLVUE, Colo. — A monolith that mysteriously appeared on a hill at a northern Colorado dairy farm has been removed. The shiny, tall, rectangular object appeared in a field about 70 miles north of Denver in Larimer County on June 26. It was installed on private property in the community of Bellvue, north of Horsetooth Reservoir in Larimer County, and drew crowds of curious onlookers.

NOCO Humane Waving Adoption Fees To Address Overcrowding
Last month, more than 900 animals arrived at NOCO Humane campuses and, in response, they’re waving pet adoption fees for all animals at both Larimer and Weld shelter campuses to address overcrowding. The Greeley Tribune reports nearly 400 of those animals, including 154 dogs, 172 cats and 60 critters found new homes in four weeks, but 462 unhoused animals still require care under NOCO Humane’s roofs. In addition, the Weld campus struggles with staffing shortages and spikes in illnesses due to a lack of physical space.

Isabella Lopez described her husband, Uriel Rodriguez-Lopez, as the backbone of the family. “He was funny, he was courageous, he was everything,” Lopez said. The Larimer County Coroner’s Office officially identified Rodriguez-Lopez as the man whose body was found by search crews in Lon Hagler Reservoir after a full-day search last week. The 24-year-old Fort Collins man died by drowning, according to the Monday release from the coroner’s office; the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office reported last week that a personal flotation device, or PFD, was not found with him when his body was recovered.
