New Air Quality Monitoring Station Unveiled at Bethke Elementary School in Timnath

Missing kayaker found dead at Colorado reservoir in Larimer County
A man who went kayaking a day prior was found dead at Lon Hagler Reservoir in Larimer County Wednesday. Colorado Parks & Wildlife reported the kayaker likely wasn't wearing a life vest. According to Larimer County Sheriff's Office, the victim's family reported him missing when he did not return home as planned after he went to the reservoir southwest of Loveland. Crews responded to the reservoir on Tuesday and continued a search effort the next day. It involved a large, multi-agency response that included marines units and drones.On Wednesday night, LCSO confirmed the missing man's body was recovered earlier in the evening. CPW confirmed a marine unit recovered the body, and the victim did not have a life vest. CPW shared in its release, "Always wear a life jacket while kayaking, paddle boarding and enjoying water recreation in the state. Make sure to check the weather forecast of state parks and state wildlife areas before heading to the area."The north parking lot at the reservoir was closed during the search and was then reopened. According to CPW, the state is approaching 20 water recreation deaths in 2024 as of June 26.

Missing 15-year-old last seen at mountain town camp in Colorado has been found
UPDATE: According to a later afternoon post from the Larimer County Sheriff's Office, the teen has been found. According to the Larimer County Sheriff's Office, a missing 15-year-old named Patrick was last seen at the Estes Park-area YMCA of the Rockies location at about 7:30 a.m. on June 27. Patrick is described as 5-foot-6 and white, with short dark hair. His direction of travel is unknown and there's concern for his welfare. A social media post from the sheriff's office on the topic included the phrase "runaway." Anyone with information related to the case or those who think they may have spotted Patrick should call the Larimer County Sheriff's Office at 970-416-1985. According to Colorado Parks and Wildlife, the body of a missing kayaker was recovered from Lon Hagler Reservoir on Wednesday evening. Mandatory evacuation lifted after wildfire reported in Northern Colorado
A mandatory evacuation has been lifted for part of Larimer County due to a wildfire. It's about eight miles north of Wellington.Larimer Emergency Telephone Authority said that a mandatory evacuation was ordered for N CR 7 East to I-25 from MM 281- 288 and E CR 82 (Buckeye) south to E CR 70 (Owl Canyon). The agency encouraged those affected to evacuate south on N CR 7.Officials said Poudre Fire crews fought the wildfire alongside the Wellington Fire Protection District.An update was issued around 4:38 p.m. that the evacuation was lifted for north Wellington and residents can return to their homes.
