Man and officer injured in shootout in Fort Collins
FORT COLLINS, Colo — A Fort Collins Police officer and another person were injured in an exchange of gunfire at a cemetery Sunday, the police department said. Police said around 12:40 p.m., officers responded to a single-vehicle rollover at the intersection of Bryan Avenue and Mountain Avenue, near City Park. Police said "the driver exited the vehicle with a firearm and exchanged gunfire with officers, then ran toward Grandview Cemetery."

Denver Man Charged with Attempted First-Degree Murder in Assault on Elderly Mother
A Denver man has been taken into custody for the alleged assault on his mother, which has since escalated to a charge of attempted first-degree murder. Lynard Edward Hunter, 58, called 911 on Friday night to report that he had attacked his 77-year-old mother at their North Little Egypt Road residence, as confirmed by authorities. According to a statement obtained by WSOC-TV, it was Hunter himself who informed the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office of the incident, leading to his arrest on the scene.
