Internet reacts to Jackson Chourio’s 2-HR game to keep Brewers’ season alive

Jackson Chourio is definitely not your average 20-year-old.

The Milwaukee Brewers rookie outfielder Chourio had the game of his life on Wednesday to keep his team’s season alive. Facing elimination in their Wild Card series against the New York Mets, Chourio hit a leadoff homer in the first inning off Sean Manaea to tie the game at 1-1.

Chourio saved his very best for last though, namely when the Brewers were trailing 3-2 in the eighth inning. He led off that inning with another game-tying homer, sending a 1-1 Phil Maton delivery into the right field seats.

Milwaukee would go on to win 5-3 to force a winner-take-all Game 3 against the Mets on Thursday. Though it was a two-run pinch-hit homer by Garrett Mitchell later on in the eighth inning that was the decisive blow, most of the headlines belonged to Chourio. The super rookie became just the second player in MLB history to hit two game-tying homers in the same playoff contest (after Babe Ruth in Game 4 of the 1928 World Series).

Chourio is the youngest player in the majors right now and is so young that the Brewers had to make special arrangements for him when they celebrated their division title. But Chourio almost singlehandedly kept their season alive on Wednesday and continues to produce well beyond his years.
