Jayden Daniels has put together one of the best starts to a rookie season for any quarterback in NFL history, and it sounds like New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen’s son saw it coming.

A scene in HBO’s “Hard Knocks” over the summer showed Schoen sitting in his office with his family discussing which player the Giants should draft at No. 6 overall. Schoen’s son Carson confidently told his father to trade up for Daniels.

“Trade up and get him, why not? You only get this job once. Might as well try to win,” Carson said.

Schoen then asked Carson for a second choice since Daniels likely would not be on the board when the Giants picked. Carson said to go with Drake Maye, Marvin Harrison Jr. or Malik Nabers and told his dad he “can’t mess up.”

The Giants, of course, drafted Nabers. That pick looks like a home run thus far. The former LSU star has 35 catches for 386 yards and 3 touchdowns through four games. Nabers has been setting rookie records and embarrassing defenders , though he might be forced to sit out on Sunday with a concussion.

There is no way the Giants are upset with their Nabers pick, but Schoen’s son wanting his dad to trade up for Daniels seems more than justified. Daniels has completed 82.1% of his passes through four games, which is an NFL record. He looks like as star in the making, while Daniel Jones is still Daniel Jones.

Stupid article. Washington was never going to trade with anyone. They were taking Daniel's, so all these articles about the Giants trading up are useless and ignorant.
