Nobody felt more euphoria over Vanderbilt’s upset of Alabama than Commodores starting quarterback Diego Pavia.

The senior QB led Vanderbilt to an absolutely stunning 40-35 win over Alabama at FirstBank Stadium in Nashville, Tenn. on Saturday.

During his postgame interview, Pavia sounded more like a rabid fan than the contest’s winning QB. Pavia’s interview quickly went viral on social media, and it’s not hard to see why.

“Literally, from the jump, God gave me a vision when I was a little kid,” said the Vanderbilt QB. “And he doesn’t let back any promises as it’s God’s timeline. … Look at this! Vandy, we’re f—ing turnt!”

In all fairness to Pavia, any QB who pulls off an upset of such magnitude would react the same way.

Pavia had the game of his life against Alabama. He went 16/20 for 252 yards with 2 touchdowns. While the numbers don’t jump out at you, Pavia did convert on an extremely gutsy 4th-and-1 play for a crucial TD ( video here ).

Pavia spent two seasons at New Mexico State before transferring to Vandy for his final year of eligibility.

In his final season with New Mexico State, Pavia threw for 2973 yards with 26 TDs across 15 games. He entered Saturday’s game with 721 passing yards and 6 TDs in his first year with Vanderbilt.

No matter how Pavia’s season goes, his performance against Alabama won’t soon be forgotten the the Commodore faithful.

Manic interview? Why because they just beat the #1 team or is it because he thanked God?
