The Boston Red Sox have made several changes to their coaching staff following their latest disappointing season.

The Boston Globe reported on Wednesday that the Sox had fired six different coaches. The list includes: first base coach Andy Fox, bullpen coach Kevin Walker, assistant hitting coach Luis Ortiz, mental skills coach Rey Fuentes, trainer Ben Chadwick, and bullpen catcher Mani Martinez.

The changes come after the Red Sox went 81-81 and finished 13 games behind the AL East-winning rival New York Yankees.

The Red Sox won the World Series in 2018 amid a dream season where they won 108 games. But the franchise later traded Mookie Betts and has since let go of other top players, like Xander Bogaerts. They have finished with a losing record in three of the last five seasons and have made the playoffs just once since 2018.

It’s doubtful that making these minor changes will have a significant impact on the standings, but the Red Sox are making some changes ahead of 2025. The team’s fans are wondering what other moves will be in store this offseason to help address the growing gap between Boston and teams like the Orioles and Yankees.

When you let your best players go, this sorta stuff is bound to happen. Who made the decisions to part with the players who brought the team success? Maybe THAT person should be let go.....
