Report: Lakers have big plan in place for LeBron, Bronny James

LeBron James and Bronny James are set to become the first ever father-son duo to share the NBA court together, and the Los Angeles Lakers are not going to make them wait to accomplish that feat.

ESPN’s Shams Charania said on “Get Up” Thursday morning that the Lakers are planning to have LeBron and Bronny play together when the team opens their regular season at home against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Oct. 22.

“We’re gonna be seeing history very, very soon,” Charania said. “The expectation around the Lakers is that their debut together — the first father-son duo in NBA history to play at the same time in a game — will be as soon as soon as opening night, Oct. 22 against the Minnesota Timberwolves at home at Crypto.com arena, from everything I’m told. That is the plan. That is the hope.”

Charania’s report meshes with a guarantee that a former ESPN reporter made about LeBron and Bronny last month.

Bronny, the No. 55 overall pick during this year’s draft, is not viewed as an NBA-ready prospect right now. The Lakers would be doing LeBron a favor by getting the big moment out of that way, that way everyone can focus on trying to put together a championship season.

LeBron, 39, and Bronny, 19, shared the floor together during a preseason game on Sunday night, so fans already know what it will look like to have James and James Jr. playing beside one another. A lot of people also made the same joke about the way LeBron acted during that moment .
