Report: Haason Reddick parts ways with his agent amid holdout

Haason Reddick may be looking for a new agent.

Both ESPN’s Adam Schefter and NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reported on Thursday that CAA has parted ways with Reddick. The two framed the story as the agency parting ways with Reddick because they are seemingly frustrated over the pass-rusher’s holdout.

Reddick was traded by the Philadelphia Eagles to the New York Jets over the offseason. Philly had been unable to reach an agreement with Reddick on a contract extension, and the Jets had been told that the contract matter wouldn’t preclude Reddick from showing up. However, Reddick never showed up for the Jets and has since racked up millions of dollars in fines for missing both training camp and the regular season.

Though it’s not debatable whether Reddick is holding out — he is — what is in question is whether Reddick dropped CAA or the agency dropped him out of frustration.

Keep in mind, a few weeks ago, Reddick’s teammate, Aaron Rodgers, suggested that Reddick’s agent had offered negative comments about the Jets to the media. Rodgers called them Reddick’s “former agent,” suggesting the defensive standout had fired the agents.
