The Jacksonville Jaguars played one of their worst games of the season on Sunday, and many people believe the performance could cost head coach Doug Pederson his job.

Jacksonville took an early 3-0 lead over the Chicago Bears at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, England, but it was all downhill from there. The Jaguars turned the ball over multiple times and made critical mistakes on defense that prevented them from getting off the field. Chicago won the game 35-16.

As the disaster unfolded, the jokes about the Jaguars leaving Pederson behind in London piled up:

The Jaguars are playing two consecutive games in London this year, which is why it is unlikely that Pederson will be fired ahead of Week 7. That would create an extremely awkward situation for the Jaguars and would also be a bad look for the NFL.

There has already been talk this season about Pederson being fired . Jaguars owner Shad Khan went out of his way recently to take some of that pressure off the head coach , but a blowout loss in London is not going to help Pederson keep his job.

The Jaguars have played so many games in London that it is almost like a second home venue for them. They entered Sunday’s game 1-4 with a chance to get things turned around but played an all-around terrible game. A coaching change would become a lot more likely if they struggle against the New England Patriots next week.

I saw three passes dropped in the end zone! Two hit the receiver in the hands. The other hit the receiver in the facemask. These happened one right after the other. This doesn’t sound like a quarterback problem. Find some people who can catch the ball!
