The Pittsburgh Steelers seemingly dropped another big hint Wednesday about their quarterback plans for Week 7.

The Steelers confirmed that Russell Wilson took first-team reps at practice on Wednesday, a significant change. The Steelers had previously indicated this would happen at some point, but it is a pretty clear indication that Wilson is increasingly looking like the starter for the team’s game against the New York Jets.

While the Steelers are 4-2 with Justin Fields at the helm, the offensive play has not been completely convincing. Coach Mike Tomlin made it clear that he considers Wilson a potential starter and has consistently refused to anoint Fields despite the team’s winning record.

Wilson has yet to play this year due to a calf injury he suffered during preseason. He only began getting full practices in last week, which prompted the Steelers to stick with Fields. It certainly sounds like a change is coming for Week 7.
