New York Mets catcher Francisco Alvarez had words with Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Andy Pages on Friday.

Pages was batting in the top of the fourth inning of Game 5 of the NLCS between his Dodgers and the Mets. The center fielder drilled a fastball out to left field for a solo home run to make it 8-2.

Pages admired his work after his home run. He started walking towards first base and then flipped his bat.

As Pages approached home plate, Alvarez had some words for the Dodgers rookie. Pages responded by pushing his hand back toward Alvarez in a dismissive motion.

Perhaps Alvarez was reminding Pages about the scoreboard and that it was 8-2 Mets, so maybe Pages should be more humble. Pages didn’t seem to care.

The Dodgers loaded up the bases in the top of the fourth after Pages’ home run, by reliever Reed Garrett struck out Freddie Freeman to end the threat.

The Mets entered the game down 3-1 in the best-of-7 series.

Dodgers, though a very good team, are a bunch of hotdogs.
