Sabrina Ionescu got the meme treatment despite winning WNBA title

Sabrina Ionescu has officially arrived.

Ionescu on Sunday won her first WNBA championship. She also got the tough meme treatment over her brutal closing game.

Ionescu shot a horrendous 1/19 and scored just 5 points in her New York Liberty’s 67-62 overtime win over the Minnesota Lynx in Game 5 of their Finals series. That came after she shot 5/15 in a Game 4 loss.

Fans on the internet did what they do best, which is mock someone for struggling in a big game. They gave Ionescu the meme treatment over her Game 5 performance.

Ionescu also got some Tyrese Haliburton comparison jokes, which were references to the NBA All-Star winning a gold medal at the Olympics despite hardly doing anything.

Ionescu may have had a brutal shooting night, but she didn’t care. She was too busy celebrating winning the championship.
