Satire: Have You Heard These Medical Expressions?
We’ve all heard medical cliches. As a matter of fact, we’ve probably used them. Is there any truth to them? Well, there is more truth to some than others. Does Playing at Wrigley Field Handicap the Cubs?
It's not a hitter's park. The Chicago Cubs defeated the Cincinnati Reds 1-0 Friday behind the strong performance of starting pitcher, Jameson Taillon. Taillon went seven scoreless innings and was backed up by Tyson Miller and Porter Hodge who each pitched a scoreless frame. The win ran Taillon’s record to 12-8 while Hodge picked up his eighth save. The game also highlighted the Jekyll and Hyde effect of Wrigley Field.
Kyle Hendricks Sticks the Landing in his Final 2024 Start
His future is up un the air. Once in a while sports provides a storybook ending. Kyle Hendricks‘s final 2024 start provided an example of that. Hendricks, by and large, has had a miserable 2024 campaign going into Saturday’s start with an ERA over 6.00 and a won-loss record of 4-12. However, what Cubs’ fans will remember is that Hendricks was one of the greatest pitchers in Cubs’ history. He was also the epitome of class.
10 Unusual Facts About State Fairs
They are not all the same. Most of us have probably been to a state fair. I worked the Oklahoma State Fair for 11 years as a sales rep for AAA. It wasn’t a terrible experience. Opinion: The Bears' Retention of Matt Eberflus Could Bite Them
Going into the 2024 NFL season Chicago Bears‘ GM, Ryan Poles, was thought of in some circles as being somewhat of a boy wonder. He fleeced the Carolina Panthers when he traded the Bears first overall draft pick in 2023 for a host of draft picks and star WR, D. J. Moore. One of those draft picks was converted into QB, Caleb Williams.
Satire: 10 Tips for Money Management
Maybe you can break even. A long, long time ago, in a faraway place, I had a decent chunk of money in a 401 K plan. When I say decent amount of money, I’m going by Lambert standards, not TV people looking to retire while putting their kids through college and spending summers in Europe money. I’m talking about buying a trailer in Florida and living on social security while not slinging fries at McDonald’s money.

Opinion: Reflections on Another Failed Cubs' Season
The Chicago Cubs were officially eliminated from the playoff race last Saturday. The end had been in sight for a long time. Last season’s failure stemmed from a late season collapse. This season’s collapse occurred during the months of May and June. The Cubs went 21-34 during that time frame.

We'll take a look at three gladiator movies. Gladiator movies are an interesting genre. I’ll try to get past the remark that Peter Graves made about gladiator movies in the classic comedy, “Airplane’ to make some salient points. Probably the ultimate gladiator movie is the appropriately named, ‘Gladiator”. First of all, when your name is Maximus, it’s got to give you some serious self-confidence. Serious kudos to the parents that named their son Maximus.

Satire: 10 Surprising Facts About the Old West
It wasn't like the movies. I like westerns. Things were simpler in that time. Also, it’s easier for me to understand what’s going on. I can usually follow what’s going on in the action scenes, unlike action movies with more modern themes. It does seem, however, like that period in American history is romanticized.
