    Las Cruces invited to Stuff the Bus 2024

    Las Cruces students return to the classroom on July 22 for the 2024-2025 school year.

    In order to help students succeed by providing needed resources, Las Crucens are invited to a school supply drive Saturday, July 13.

    "Stuff the Bus is a fundraiser campaign, brought to you by Memorial Medical Center, First Financial Credit Union and Bravo Mic Communications teaming up with the community to collect as many school supplies as possible, to help students and teachers of the Las Cruces Public Schools District," read a flyer for the event.

    The goal is to collect $5,000 worth of school supplies.

    Stuff the Bus at Las Cruces Airport

    Donations of school supplies are being collected at the 2024 Stuff the Bus+ event at the Las Cruces International Airport located at 8990 Zia Blvd.

    "Help us stuff a school bus and maybe even a plane or two," the flyer read.

    Donation collections begin at 10 a.m. and end at 3 p.m.

    Youth Centered Fair open to all students

    Local vendors, food trucks and hands-on activities are scheduled for July 13 at the Las Cruces airport.

    The event is open to all Las Cruces families; in lieu of an entrance fee, a donation of school supplies is requested.

    A car show, live music and other entertainment will be presented during the event.

    The Youth Centered Fair opens at 10 a.m. and will close at 3 p.m.

    Donation bins available for drop off

    Donation bins have also been placed at the main hospital entrance and entrance of the Annex of Memorial Medical Center.

    A donation bin at Del Valle Physical Therapy, located at 2445 Missouri Ave. is also open.

    Donations can be dropped off at Doña Ana Community College's admission office, room 107 at the East Mesa Campus or room 107 at the Espina Campus.

    School supplies to donate

    The following school supplies can be donated:

    • No. 2 pencils and sharpeners
    • Mechanical pencils
    • Pens (blue, black and red)
    • Pink erasers
    • Crayons
    • Bottle glue and glue sticks
    • Folders
    • Spiral notebooks
    • Backpacks
    • Wide-ruled and college-ruled paper
    • Scissors
    • Rulers
    • Markers and colored pencils
    • Flash drives
    • Graphing and scientific calculators
    • Combination locks
