Las Cruces (4-2, 2-0 District 3-6A) defeated Organ Mountain (2-4, 1-1) 55-7 at the Field of Dreams on Friday evening.

The Bulldawgs jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter and went into halftime with a 34-0 lead. Las Cruces added 14 more points in the third quarter and seven in the fourth quarter. The Knights scored their touchdown with 11 minutes left in the fourth quarter to prevent a shutout loss.

Sophomore running back Jaxon Alba scored twice for the Bulldawgs, while senior wide receiver Nate Libby scored three times. One of his three touchdowns was a kickoff return for a touchdown to start the second half. Junior wide receiver Francisco Winnikoff, sophomore tight end Diego Lopez, senior running back Gabriel Sanchez and sophomore wide receiver Hunter Parameter all scored touchdowns for the Bulldawgs as well.

Junior quarterback Gunnar Guardiola was perfect passing the football, completed all 12 of his passes for 257 passing yards and three touchdowns for Las Cruces.

"We played well," said Bulldawgs coach Mark Lopez said. "Our defense did a great job giving our offense a lot of opportunities. Offensively, we had a lot of short fields to work with but we executed well. Overall, we played physical and disciplined and I'm proud of our guys."

Next: Las Cruces stays at home to take on Clovis (0-5, 0-1) while Organ Mountain travels to face Carlsbad (3-3, 1-1). Both games are next Friday at 7 p.m.
