Eldorado vs Organ Mountain

Organ Mountain fell to Eldorado 21-12 at home to open its season. Here's how it happened:

Eldorado 21, Organ Mountain 12 (2:46 3rd)

Sophomore Jahari Morehead returned a kickoff back more than 70 yards for a touchdown. A successful two-point conversion put the Eagles up by two possessions.

Eldorado 13, Organ Mountain 12 (3:01 3rd)

Senior quarterback Xavier Perez punched in a quarterback sneak from one yard out for a touchdown. The Knights failed a second two-point conversion afterward.

Eldorado 13, Organ Mountain 6 (8:06 3rd)

Senior safety/running back Riley Test intercepted a pass near the Organ Mountain 30-yard line and took it to the end zone for a touchdown. The Knights went for a two-point conversion and failed.

Eldorado 13, Organ Mountain 0 (4:20 2nd)

The Eagles score another short touchdown, as senior running back Daniel Quinones rushes up the middle from three yards out. The extra point was no good.

Eldorado 7, Organ Mountain 0 (10:52 2nd)

Senior Emiliano Morrison caught a three-yard touchdown pass just outside the goal line and walked into the end zone.

Las Cruces vs Mayfield

Las Cruces defeated Mayfield 50-7 at the Field of Dreams on Friday night. It is the first time a Las Cruces-Mayfield has been played in Week 1.

Las Cruces 50, Mayfield 7 (4:06 4th)

Senior Dalin Walter nailed a short field goal to give the Bulldawgs 50 points.

Las Cruces 47, Mayfield 7 (8:05 4th)

Senior quarterback/linebacker Luke Linnan called his own number for a two-yard rushing touchdown off a quarterback draw.

Las Cruces 47, Mayfield 0 (2:32 3rd)

Junior running back Daniel Amaro returned a punt from near midfield to the end zone for a touchdown. It was Amaro's third score of the game.

Las Cruces 40, Mayfield 0 (5:58 3rd)

Junior defensive back Issac Gomez earned the Bulldawgs' second pick-6 of the game after intercepting a pass from Linnan in Las Cruces' red zone.

Las Cruces 34, Mayfield 0 (9:30 3rd)

Junior quarterback Gunnar Guardiola found junior wide receiver Francisco Winnikoff for a 26-yard passing touchdown.

Las Cruces 28, Mayfield 0 (0:18 2nd)

Guardiola found senior wide receiver Nate Libby wide-open for a catch-and-run 21-yard touchdown.

Las Cruces 21, Mayfield 0 (2:54 2nd)

Junior defensive back Devin Alba earns a pick-6 touchdown after intercepting Linnan's pass inside Bulldawgs territory.

Las Cruces 14, Mayfield 0 (7:58 2nd)

Amaro walked in untouched for a two-yard touchdown.

Las Cruces 7, Mayfield 0 (6:41 1st)

Amaro rushed 39 yards for the first touchdown.
