Gyu+ May Be Headed to Chinatown

Word got out back in 2022 that Las Vegas “sandos, bowls, and more” brand would open its first brick and mortar location at Uncommons Las Vegas. Since then, the restaurant, created by restaurateurs Freddie Paloma and Luis DeSantos , has closed in its current location at Silverado Ranch Plaza .

“WE ARE MOVING! Stay tuned for the new location. Until then, we are temporarily closed,” says an Instagram post from 2023.

Licensing paperwork was submitted recently to Clark County by GYU Plus Chinatown LLC for a “GYU Plus” location at 3516 Wynn Road , near the intersection with West Spring Mountain Road . This may be GYU+’s new home. The location is part of The Center at Spring Mountain , a retail and shopping center across Wynn from Chinatown Plaza .

What Now reached out to Luis DeSantos on Friday to inquire about plans for GYU+ in Chinatown. DeSantos was not immediately available for comment.

GYU+ offers sandwiches like the Steak Sando ( 1/2 lb. of beef filet, onion jam, secret sauce & shokupan bread ), the Egg Sando ( diced jidori eggs, mayonnaise, secret sauce & shokupan bread ), and the Chicken Sando ( soy-ginger chicken thighs, pickled daikon, cabbage slaw, shokupan bread ). There are also boxes like the GYU+ Chef’s Box ( chef’s unique combination of japanese wagyu & american beef filet, koshihikari white rice, shiitake mushroom, red onions, yakiniku & shiro miso sauce ).
