UFC Full Fight: Relive Jiří Procházka's Last-Gasp Submission Of Glover Teixeira To Win Gold Ahead Of UFC 303 Return

UFC 303 headliner Jiří Procházka achieved his title ambitions on mixed martial arts' biggest stage in dramatic fashion two years ago.

The former champion is set to main event this weekend's International Fight Week pay-per-view at Las Vegas' T-Mobile Arena , where he'll challenge for the UFC's 205-pound belt against reigning kingpin Alex Pereira .

"BJP" is in pursuit of the gold strap he held for a short period in 2022. Interestingly, that came courtesy of a memorable victory over his upcoming opponent's coach and mentor, Glover Teixeira.

Following on from brutal knockouts of Volkan Oezdemir and Dominick Reyes, Procházka competed with the belt on the line in just his third UFC outing, sharing the cage with then-champ Teixeira at UFC 275 in Singapore .

The pair engaged in a brawl to headline the event, putting on one of the division's all-time great fights. As the five-rounder entered its final minute, the Brazilian had secured an unassailable lead on the scorecards.

But just as he appeared to be on the way to a first defense, his Czech counterpart capitalized on an ill-advised decision to pull guard with a guillotine. He reversed position and locked in a rear-naked choke for the last-gasp, come-from-behind submission win with less than 30 seconds remaining.

Ahead of Saturday's event, the promotion has released the full Procházka vs. Teixeira fight from UFC 275 on its official YouTube channel.

Having had his reign ended unceremoniously by a serious shoulder injury ahead of his planned first defense, "BJP" will look to enjoy a second, lengthier stint on the light heavyweight throne.

To do so, Procházka must achieve the feat he failed to accomplish at Madison Square Garden by getting the better of Pereira at the second time of trying.
