Advanced research is showing the real reason why the Raiders struggle with home-team fan attendance

The Las Vegas Raiders have had a terrible issue since they moved to Nevada. When they were in Northern California in Oakland , or even in Los Angeles, they never had this issue. But, it's one that will likely be there as long as the Raiders are in Las Vegas.

However, after a bit of advanced research that Boardroom has done, it's pretty clear why there is an issue in Las Vegas with the Raiders.

We have all seen it - everyone has turned their TV on during a Raiders home game or even showed up to the stadium, and more times than not seen more away fans at the game than Raiders fans. That's what the new reality is, where in Oakland there were almost no away fans.

And, it's not the fan base's fault. The fan base is one of the biggest of any sport across the world, really. Instead, it has everything to do with where they are.

According to Boardroom, the Raiders have the highest average cost per game for the average family at $1,381. It's the highest by a wide margin. That is factoring ticket prices, parking, food, and anything else you may need to spend money on at a game. And, that's not counting the price it may cost to stay at a hotel in Las Vegas, which by itself can be outrageous.

Being in Las Vegas has its perks. Like, Mark Davis has made a ton of money there. But, the fans are usually outdone by away fans. Think of it this way: When an opposing team's fan base sees that the Raiders are on the away schedule for their team, that is their vacation for the year. Everyone wants to visit Vegas, and the team playing there gives them a reason to do so.

Meanwhile, Raiders fans are predominantly from Northern and Southern California, not Nevada. Now, sure, there are a ton of Raiders fans in Las Vegas now, but there are so many other things to do in Las Vegas, and with the pricing, those fans can not go to every single home game, whereas the away fans are saving up for this game throughout the year.

Being the most expensive game on average to attend does not help the Raiders' home-field advantage on game day.
