The Las Vegas Aces are one of the hottest teams in the WNBA. After holding a 6-6 record, the Aces have won five in a row to move to 11-6 and sit two games back of the Minnesota Lynx for first place in the Western Conference.

While A’ja Wilson fills the superstar role for the Aces , this win streak is credited to another player: Chelsea Gray. The veteran was out due to a foot injury since the 2023 WNBA Finals and made her long-awaited return June 20 against the Seattle Storm.

As such, the Aces have won all five games since Gray’s return.

Since Gray returned to the rotation, the Aces have looked much better as a whole. Gray is averaging 7.8 points and 4.2 assists per game, and she scored 22 points against the Washington Mystics to finish June off strong.

Kelsey Plum, who scored a game-high 34 points in Tuesday's win against the Indiana Fever, gave some huge praise to Chelsea Gray (h/t Meghan L. Hall).

“Chelsea’s our leader….I said this before. She’s like the sugar in our cake,” Plum said.

In each of the Aces' five games since Gray returned, they have won each game by double digits.

The Aces next face the Washington Mystics July 4 in Las Vegas as they look for their sixth straight win.
